TRANSVAL-EU in Italy: The Policy Conference in Rome

The TRANSVAL-EU partners in Italy organized a successful webinar on May 18th, which was attended by 65 professionals from public and private Public Employment Services, enterprises and from the field of education. The webinar included direct testimonies of the two experimentations carried out in Umbria and Tuscany:

– In Umbria, the practitioners developed their own tools, embedding the ones proposed by the TRANSVAL-EU methodology into the usual tools in place for guiding candidates and supporting their access to training, internship or labour market. The tools consist in scenarios with prompt questions aimed at identifying and assessing the transversal competence under analysis, and were easily integrated into the practitioners’ daily practice. This is a successful factor of the pilot in Umbria, since the practitioners easily took ownership of the tools suggested and are motivated to continue to apply them in their interviews with the candidates.

– In Tuscany, the Challenge Lab was organized, which is a training package tailored on the TRANSVAL-EU path and objective. Its aim is to adopt and implement tools that allow to identify and strengthen competences starting from positive past experiences, and to activate and develop competences starting from problems and challenges of the present.

After the webinar, TRANSVAL-EU in Italy approaches its next and final step: National Policy Conference.

The Conference – Making all Skills Visible. Migliorare i sistemi di individuazione, orientamento e valutazione delle competenze trasversali – will take place on June 21st in Rome, and will be hosted at University of Roma Tre (Via del Castro Pretorio 20, near Termini Train Station).

The Conference will have guest speakers from the OECD, representatives from National and Regional agencies for active labour policy, Università Roma Tre and the private sector.

The Conference will be in Italian and organised face-to-face.
