Coming soon…the European training on transversal skills and validation

The European training on transversal skills and validation will take place in Perugia on 10th and 11th of May 2022.

After a first phase of study and comparison on national models, tools and practices, the next project appointment will be joint training with all the experts. The international event is organized by ARPAL Umbria (the regional agency for active employment policies), in collaboration with the other two Italian partners: FORMAazione Perugia and Pluriversum Siena.

A qualified team of international experts will lead the training for 27 trainers and validation and guidance experts coming from the 5 pilot countries of the TRANSVAL-EU project (Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Poland and Belgium). The international training is a crucial step of the project because it aims at sharing the main approaches and tools with the national trainers to start the national field trails and a wide dissemination and exploitation of the project results to practitioners and also to final beneficiaries.

The training will be focus on the core skills for trainers and validation and guidance practitioners to design and test new services and tools to support final beneficiaries in several different contexts (such as Public Employment Services, Adult Education Centers, Schools and Higher Education institutions, social services and charities). The expected learning outcomes are:

  1. Identify transversal competences and describe them to learners.
  2. Present and share existing systems, practices and tools for the validation of transversal skills, at each of the four stages of the validation process, from different European Countries.
  3. Test of the TRANSVAL-EU competence framework, tools and methods for the identification or validation of transversal skills.
  4. Empower peer learning strategies and models in how to identify, document, assess or improve transversal competences according to the TRANSVAL-EU competence framework and in how to support candidates in using these competences in different contexts.
  5. Foster mutual cooperation with the different stakeholders involved in the validation process.

After the international training, the 27 trainers will design and deliver national trainings within the 5 pilot countries. The national trainings will reach a total of at least 175 practitioners to ensure a wide impact at national and regional levels, involving main stakeholders and core institutions in charge of the provision of career guidance and validation services.

Through the international training event, a training toolkit for practitioners and trainers will also be created, that includes:

  •               State of the Art Report
  •               Validation of Not Formal and Informal Learning (VNFIL) tools and methods identified and selected
  •               Transversal Competence Framework
  •               Practitioners’ competence profile
  •               Glossary of terms for VNFIL and transversal competences, collecting terms and language nuances from all piloting countries.
